Yale University researchers recently found that mosquitoes has the gene which can identify the body odor of human, which will help develop more targeted insect repellents and seek ways to control malaria.

The United States Yale University researchers John Carlson carried out sampling and analysis for Gambia anopheles found that 50 species of genes which is used to identify different smells of human in Anopheles gambiae body.

Researchers embeded Anopheles gambiae gene in fruit fly nerve cells and found that originally fruit flies were implanted gene that can detect human body odor, which identified Anopheles which genes used to identify the body odor.

Carlson believes that if the results of this study apply insect repellent will interfere with the mosquito’s sense of smell, will help to better fight against mosquitoes to control malaria transmission have a great significance.
